Hey guys, I'm aware things have been a bit dead lately. But, current interests have had a friend and I attempting to code AJAX-based games. For my first attempt at a game, my previous being a chat room, I decided to use Chao Sprites to learn the basics of what I was trying to accomplish: hence my first game being the Tiny Chao Garden (it should hopefully end up being more interactive than the actual game for GameBoy Advance.) So far the function-abilities are limited to moving around the Chao Garden as one of your Chao (you decide which and can change which), whilst seeing the other unselected Chao in your garden as active NPCs. Here's a few previews:
Starting The Game:
Moving about and view: (The chao in use is the slightly translucent one, (sky blue). You can move him around with the keys provided. The other chao appear to move around at random from place to place.
It is quite BETA at the moment however it should gradually continue to evolve into something remotely enjoyable. When it is done I will integrate it into the forums for people to be able to raise and train Chao once again if they want to mess around with this.
Additional Features we hope to figure out (for the sake of this game and other future AJAX-based games):
* Screen scrolling (moving the character to a new area/map by going to the very edge of the current map).
* Item Interaction (picking and using items).
* Skills (ties in with the items. Certain items, like fruits, would increase skills).
* NPC Interaction (Being able to communicate or act upon other NPCs)
* Appropriate Sprite alternating (So the NPCs appear to move their arms and legs as they move around the map).
See ya soon.
